Applications are open for Young Nebraska Scientists (YNS) camps throughout the state in 2021, including:

FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS:

For more than 12 years, each summer 100+ youths attend YNS camps, which include hands-on science experiences and recreation opportunities at college campuses throughout Nebraska. YNS camp fees include meals and lodging, except day camps (see yns.nebraska.edu/camps for specifics). Application deadline is May 1 for YNS camps.

Applications close March 1 for YNS High School Researchers (HS juniors preferred), with paid summer jobs in the labs of university scientists.

YNS is conducted by Nebraska EPSCoR to encourage youth participation in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) learning and careers. National Science Foundation funding (via OIA1557417) helps keep YNS camp fees low; need-based scholarships for YNS camps are readily available. Faculty from Nebraska colleges and universities are camp leaders, and camp staff include university students. For information and online applications, see http://yns.nebraska.edu
