Nebraska EPSCoR has earned success in forming research partnerships to address scientific challenges to improve quality of life for America and the world. We align Nebraska for research with results that are greater than the sum of the component parts. Since the NE EPSCoR office formed in 1991, these efforts have successfully competed for more than $400 million in federal research funding. Read more about our projects below.

In 2021, the National Science Foundation (NSF) awarded $20 million in EPSCoR Research Infrastructure Improvement (RII) Track-1 funding to a Nebraska collaboration focused on Emergent Quantum Materials and Technologies (EQUATE).

Infrastructure Improvement 2014 - 2017, $3 million
In 2014, NSF awarded nearly $6 million to Nebraska and Kansas for collaborative research, through an EPSCoR RII Track-2 award.
Infrastructure Improvement 2013 - 2018, $750,000
In 2013, the National Science Foundation awarded an RII Track-3 grant, Framing the Chemistry Curriculum (#1348382), to develop a sustainable two-semester chemistry course sequence.
Infrastructure Improvement 2010 - 2012, $1.32 million
In 2010, Nebraska gained an NSF EPSCoR Track C2 award, #1010094, to expand cyberinfrastructure for targeted educational purposes throughout the state.
Infrastructure Improvement 2010 - 2013, $3.3 million
A three-year NSF RII Track-2 grant (#1010674) was awarded to Nebraska for building a consortium of five universities and two computing centers in Nebraska (NE) and Puerto Rico (PR).

In 2001, Nebraska EPSCoR received a three-year Infrastructure Improvement grant (#0091900) from the National Science Foundation.
Infrastructure Improvement 1998 - 2001, $2.7 million
A three-year cooperative agreement (#9720643) with the National Science Foundation centered around NSF EPSCoR's emphasis on developing infrastructure rather than supporting specific research clusters as in the previous agreement.
