Outreach
Nebraska EPSCoR believes science isn't completed until it's communicated. We also help our state's next generation prepare for careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Via outreach, we connect with our state's communities:
- YOUNG NEBRASKA SCIENTISTS
Young Nebraska Scientists (YNS) began in 2008 to provide hands-on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) enrichment activities for middle and high school students. Nebraska EPSCoR conducts YNS including camps, high school researcher opportunities, and mobile lab resources for classrooms. - EVENTS
Nebraska EPSCoR engages people across the state with activities that broaden the positive impacts of grants we are awarded. Annual events presented with NE EPSCoR typically include:
• Nebraska Research and Innovation Conferences (NRIC) with STEM topics/themes relevant to our state
• State Committee Meeting/s, open to the public (check Events page) - COMMUNICATIONS
• Nebraska EPSCoR publishes a bi-monthly e-newsletter (sample / subscribe) with information about programs and activities
• Social Media: Nebraska EPSCoR is active on LinkedIn, Bluesky, and X; find YNS on Facebook.
Need funding for your STEM outreach?
Nebraska EPSCoR seeks fun ideas that will allow Nebraska students and families to experience science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Any STEM related topic is welcome. Professionals from outside core STEM fields such as business, sociology, art, history, and education are encouraged to submit proposals as well. The only requirement is the proposed event or activity should include strong STEM components. Proposals are accepted anytime throughout the year and are limited to $2,500 per award. For more information, email Dr. Jodi Sangster or call the Nebraska EPSCoR office at 402-472-8946.
