Nebraska EPSCoR has launched a new online Research Equipment Directory designed to help researchers, students, institutions, companies and collaborators find research equipment and services across Nebraska.
The directory, available at research-equipment.nebraska.edu, currently lists more than 900 research equipment items from higher education institutions throughout the state. The site is free to use and searchable by keyword, with listings that include equipment location, contact information, and pricing or availability when provided.
By making Nebraska’s research infrastructure easier to find and use, the directory is intended to strengthen collaboration and expand access to specialized resources beyond any single campus or organization.
Any user can visit the site and enter a term into the search function to find available resources. For example, a search for “confocal microscope” returns 64 instances of that instrument at locations across the state.
Nebraska EPSCoR developed the Research Equipment Directory in collaboration with a University of Nebraska–Lincoln School of Computing team. An initial online scrape gathered publicly available information from five in-state universities.
Additional research resources can be added by representatives of Nebraska organizations through the site’s Upload tab. Submitted entries are reviewed before being posted to the directory.
Nebraska EPSCoR encourages higher education institutions, research teams, and partner organizations to explore the directory, share it with their networks, and consider submitting additional equipment or services for inclusion. For more information, email Nebraska EPSCoR.
